VVSD Treatment Services

The leading causes of homelessness among veterans are substance abuse and mental health disorders.

VVSD provides intensive, residential treatment programs targeting addictions, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic relapse and other personal and family issues that prevent veterans from regaining self-sufficiency.

VVSD programs are highly structured and are also tailored to meet individual needs. Residents in our facilities receive a host of integrated services, including:
  • Clinical assessments
  • Psychiatric referrals
  • Medication management
  • Case management
  • Art therapy
VVSD offers the following treatment options:

Veterans Treatment Center: a state-licensed drug and alcohol treatment center that serves both men and women.

Veterans Village at SVDPV: Through a partnership with St. Vincent de Paul Village, homeless veterans living in Father Joe's Village in downtown San Diego receive case management, counseling, training in living skills and employment development.
