Veterans On Point Apartments

Veterans On Point Apartments is a state-of-the-art transitional housing facility, featuring 16 three-bedroom, three-bath units for veterans. The newly-built apartments represent the third phase of a $30 million expansion at VVSD's San Diego headquarters located off Pacific Highway.


Veterans On Point Apartment Exterior The apartments have been open since December 2010.

The apartments come fully furnished with everything residents need, including:
  • Television with cable
  • Internet access
  • Mattresses, blankets, pillows and sheets
  • Dishes, forks, knives and glasses
Each apartment unit is 1,200 square feet. Each bedroom comes with its own attached bathroom.Shared laundry rooms are available in the buildings. Outside walkways are graced by fountains and teak chairs.

We named the apartments "On Point" for a special reason. In the infantry, the phrase refers to being the first in the marching column.Similarly, veterans who are turning their lives around with the help of transitional housing are leading the way, inspiring others to do the same.

Veterans On Point Apartment InteriorThis project is made possible with funding from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, California Department of Housing and Community Development, San Diego Housing Commission, San Diego Redevelopment Agency, private donors, and VVSD.

Eligibility
  • A minimum of 120 days of sobriety
  • Preferably employed or have income to pay rent
  • Must be willing to participate in programs and activities to maintain a positive lifestyle
  • Must be homeless or in need of a place to live
Rental Rates
Residents pay rent on a sliding scale based on their income. The maximum rent per room with all the amenities and utilities included is capped at $395 per month.
