Harold Koenig, M.D., Chairman of the Board, VADM, U.S. Navy (Ret), former Navy Surgeon General

Harold Koenig, Chairman of the BoardDr. Koenig, was an active duty Navy doctor for thirty-two years, retiring in 1998 with the permanent rank of Vice Admiral after serving as the Navy's 32nd Surgeon General. He is now a senior partner in Martin-Blanck & Associates, a health care consulting firm. He currently serves on the board of The Rostropovich Foundation-Vishnevskaya Foundation whose mission is to improve the state of children's health in countries that were formerly part of the Soviet Union.

He is a member of the Scientific Steering and Advisory Committee of the Millennium Cohort Study at the DoD Center for Deployment Health Research. He served a four-year term on advisory committees for the National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. He has served on several corporate boards in private business.

Dr. Koenig and his wife Deena have three sons, all who have served as officers in the Navy.
